Yearly Registration & Admission

Student re-registration occurs in February each year.  After all current students have re-registered for the coming year, new applicants are considered, using the following criteria as the basis for an interview.

1.  Children of staff of St. John the Evangelist

2. Children whose brothers and/or sisters are already enrolled in St. John the Evangelist Early Learning and Childcare Center.

3.  Children of parents registered in St. John the Evangelist Parish who personally and financially contribute to their parish.

4. Children of parents who are registered in a local Catholic parish who personally and financially contribute to their parish.

5. Non-Catholic children of families who are willing to pay full non-subsidized tuition.

Before any student is accepted, the director will interview him/her.

Registration requirements include:

1. To enter Pre-K, the child must be four years of age by September 1st. (October 1st if attending our Kindergarten / PreK5)
To enter Kindergarten / PreK5, the child must be five years of age by October 1st.

2. A Birth Certificate, Baptismal certificate (if applicable) and immunization record (blue card) must be presented to the school at the time of registration. Students must be immunized against diphtheria/tetanus/pertussis (DPT), polio, measles, mumps, and rubella, Hepatitis B, and Varicella before entering school.

Parents are urged to make regular, yearly medical and dental appointments for their children. Visual and audio examinations can identify perception and hearing difficulties so that adjustment and treatment can begin at an early stage. Parents whose children have chronic medical problems or identified learning disabilities should include this information on the application form and should inform the school director.

3.  Children in our Prekindergarten program should be potty trained and able to use rest room facilities independently. They may put on a pull-up at naptime if needed.
