8:30-8:50         Welcome/Check In/Quiet Table Activities (Teacher will
                          rotate these and other activities)

·         Daily “Journals” (Students draw and tell about what they drew-teacher records their language)

·         Desk Activity: Puzzles, Tracing Name and Numbers, Cutting and Pasting, etc.

·         Math manipulatives

·         Books-Independent “Reading”  of thematic literature, concept books, Bibles and other books along with finding the Letter of the Week

8:50-9:05         Opening Circle Time

  • Opening Prayers
  • Bible Memory Verse
  • Daily Calendar Activities (Math)
  • Spanish word or phrase of the day/week (to be integrated throughout the day/week)
  • Letter, Shape, Number and/or Color of the Week

9:05-9:20         Outdoor Play Time

9:20-9:45         Bathroom Break, Handwashing, Prayer and Snack

9:45-10:30       Learning Centers:

                        Children choose freely from the following centers: Block and Dramatic Play, Toys and Games, Art, Library, Discovery, Sand and Water, and Computer.  All centers are changed as needed and incorporate monthly themes in science, social studies, and religion. Instructor will be assisting, assessing, guiding, and teaching during this time.

10:30-10:45    Literacy/Language Development (Story Time) and
Daily Bible Reading

11:00-11:10    Music, Movement, Phonemic Awareness Songs and

  • language targets (rhyming words, verbs, letter identification and sounds, …)
  • phonemic awareness
  •  print conventions and language mechanics (punctuation marks, capitalization, …)
  •  comprehension
  •  visual language (font, illustration, etc.)
  •  creative response/processing the literature (illustrations, graphic organizers, written responses such as adaptations of the story, and oral responses such as acting out the story with props)

On the second Thursday of each month we offer an interactive storytelling and check-out time with Miss Pam from the
Collier County Public Library.

 

On the first Friday of each month we attend Mass together unless there is a holy day of obligation in that month.  We attend Mass on
all holy days of obligation that we are in school.
