Justice & Peace
The Mission of the Justice and Peace Ministry is to implement Catholic Social Teachings through education and action of the members of our Parish.
We will analyze social issues which adversely impact human dignity and undertake actions to help correct unjust policies and social institutions in a manner that is consistent with Catholic teaching. Members of the faith who join in this Ministry become part of a universal team of Church organizations all having an objective of bringing justice to the most vulnerable in society by building the Kingdom of God here on earth.
The Catholic Social Teachings are a rich treasure of wisdom about building a just society and living lives of holiness amidst the challenges of modern society. Modern Catholic Social Teaching has been articulated through a tradition of Papal, Conciliar and Episcopal documents (Florida Catholic Conference).
Some of the issues that will be discussed for the purpose of a goal to bring human dignity to vulnerable people:
Human Trafficking for the purpose of forced prostitution and labor
National Health Care
Climate change
Homelessness
Immigration Reform
Isolated Elderly
