On behalf of Fr. Glackin, thank you to everyone that gave so extremely generously to the Glackin Fund.  If you take a quick peek at the collection report, you will see that we have reached our goal of $300,000.00.  With an extended deadline of May 4th, we reached our goal with very little to spare.  A special thank you is in order for Meneve Dunham and her tireless work in ensuring that this campaign met with success.  Fr. Glackin is currently house hunting and with a more than favorable local housing market, he has plenty to choose from at great prices.  Thank you once again to everyone that contributed to this effort in order to honor a man that has touched the lives of many.

The 11th annual Spring Golf Tournament took place this past weekend.  Although we did not fill the field, everyone had a great time.  Thank you to all that participated and to Naples Grande Golf Club for hosting our event.  Thank you also to the St. Vincent De Paul Society for providing volunteers at the venue.  Below is a list of the winning teams by flight.

Below is a letter from Fr. Richard acknowledging the generosity of our parish family.

Text Box:

Though months have passed, finality of an accurate report now becomes possible.

A special thanks to Father Glackin for permitting a group of parishioners, the
“Friends of Father Richard” to meet and establish goals on my behalf.

The committee headed by Joe Walsh and Bob Indre was formed with two goals:

1) To raise funds to establish an annuity as a supplement to my retirement income

2) To plan a retirement party

Marilyn Chouinard chaired my retirement party.

To all the parishioners who served on the committee, may I express my sincerest gratitude.
The total amount collected for the annuity was $101,545, which translated into a lifetime
monthly supplement of $753.66.

I am preparing a letter to personally acknowledge all individual contributions.

May God continue to bless all my friends at St. John the Evangelist.

Father Richard J.  Mueller

Now that “season” is all but over, we can concentrate on surviving through the “lean” summer months.  Next week I will publish a consolidated financial statement for the 3rd quarter of our fiscal year (1st quarter of the calendar year.)  At the end of our fiscal year (June 30), we will publish a more in-depth annual statement with many of the internal components of our operation broken out so that you may better understand the expenses involved in operating St. John the Evangelist.

We are only $200,000 shy of reaching our Catholic Faith Appeal goal.  We are only four (4) full months into the campaign and already I am excited that I will be able to address the congregation from the altar this coming February announcing our accomplishment.  If there are still seasonal residents or visitors among us, please remember to make your check payable to the CFA with
St. John the Evangelist in the memo line.

Thank you so much for supporting St. John the Evangelist.

In His work together,

Scott Schlossberg, MBA
